We work with universities, high schools, cultural and educational organizations, private groups, and mission-driven travelers seeking thoughtfully designed international experiences. Group sizes range from small private groups to larger institutional programs.
Is Global Focus Travel right for individual travelers?
Global Focus Travel specializes exclusively in group programs. We do not offer individual or off-the-shelf travel bookings.
What makes Global Focus Travel different from a tour company?
Every Global Focus program is custom designed from the ground up and personally overseen in-country. We focus on depth, access, and quality rather than standardized itineraries or volume-based tourism.
Are your trips pre-set or fully customized?
All programs are fully customized. There are no pre-packaged itineraries. Each journey is designed around the group’s goals, interests, pace, and desired level of comfort.
What destinations do you specialize in?
We design programs worldwide, with extensive experience across Europe, Africa, and South America. Specialized experience is offered in Asia, where Global Focus owner Brian Calvert has spent extensive time - especially Japan, China and Southeast Asia.

Do you book flights?
International airfare is typically handled separately unless internal flights are required by the itinerary. We are happy to advise on flight timing and logistics to align with the program.
Who oversees the trip on the ground?
Programs are personally overseen either by Global Focus Travel or trusted in-country partners to ensure smooth operations and real-time problem solving.
How far in advance should we start planning?
We recommend beginning planning 6–12 months in advance for international group programs, particularly for complex itineraries or peak travel periods.
Do you recommend travel insurance?
Yes. Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all participants. Global Focus carries a policy to provide for coverage due to medical emergencies. Personal coverage is recommended, however, especially covering “cancellation for any reason”.
How do we begin planning a trip?
